After selling out throughout the country and the West End,  this highly acclaimed retelling of one of the most pivotal moments in English history returns to Bath ahead of its second national tour.

The greatest, most powerful and dangerous figures who shaped the country we live in today are brought vividly to life in Robert Bolt’s award-winning play.

Martin Shaw reprises his role as Sir Thomas More - scholar, ambassador, Lord Chancellor and friend to King Henry VIII. When Henry demands a divorce from Catherine of Aragon, clearing the way to marry Anne Boleyn, the staunchly Catholic Thomas is forced to choose between his loyalty and his own conscience, committing an incredible act of defiance for which he eventually pays the ultimate price...

★★★★ “Bolt’s play dazzles, turning complex ideas into crisp dramatic action with aphoristic wit” Daily Mail

★★★★ “Martin Shaw’s finely tuned Thomas More... Simon Higlett’s magnificent, Tudor-style, panelled-wood set” Observer

★★★★ “Full of striking images, intellgence and ready wit... what a cracking story of human courage it is” Mail on Sunday
