Summer Company - Backstage

This summer, The Egg becomes yours!

Summer Company is back with a never-before-seen play by award winning writer Florence Espeut-Nickless! Where young people aged 12–18 are invited to take part, with an original script created exclusively for Summer Company, this theatrical retreat is for performers and backstage creatives who want to dive deep into the world of theatre-making.

During this three-week residency, you’ll take over the entire building, work as a company, and be guided by industry professionals to create a bold and original piece of theatre. At its heart it will focus on individuality as a superpower, celebrating each and every participant in their uniqueness and challenge traditional ideas of what a “hero” looks like, centring young people who don’t usually see themselves cast in that role.

Whether you’re drawn to acting, stage management, design, tech, or you’re still figuring out where you fit, Summer Company gives you the opportunity to explore in an environment where you can be yourself.

Monday 10 - Saturday 29 August

Week 1 & 2 – Mon – Fri – 10am – 5:30pm

Week 3 – Monday – Thurs – 10 am – 5:30pm

Performances – Friday & Saturday – 2pm & 6pm daily

Full commitment to the three-week rehearsal period is essential.
