Composer & Musical Director
Bear Trap, The Egg, Oxford Playhouse and Wales Millennium Centre are seeking a Composer & Musical Director to join the creative team for Josephine, their new play for young audiences about the life of Josephine Baker. Taking inspiration from the Harlem Renaissance, 1920’s Paris and Josephine’s own unique style, we want a resourceful and dynamic Composer and Musical Director to collaborate with the creative team to compose a score to support the script that combines live and recorded elements, and provide direction and support to the cast of actor musicians.
We are particularly interested in collaborating with creatives that are currently underrepresented within the industry.
Dates:
Rehearsals: 6th – 23rd April 2021
Production week (including performances at the egg covid permitting):26th April – 2nd May 2021
Creative learning portal, Filming: 3rd – 7th May 2021
Autumn 2021 Tour: 27th September – 14th November 2021*
Spring 2022 Tour:3 weeks March – April 2022*
