This award-winning play from one of Britain’s greatest contemporary playwrights - author of stellar theatrical hits Amadeus and Lettice and Lovage - is now considered a modern classic.

In Equus, Peter Schaffer brings together two powerhouse roles, psychiatrist Martin Dysart and his teenage patient Alan Strang. These two unforgettable characters have been routinely portrayed by some of the finest actors of their generations, including Anthony Hopkins, Leonard Nimoy, Richard Griffiths, Tom Hulce and Daniel Radcliffe. The Golden Globe winning movie adaptation starred Richard Burton as Dysart with Peter Firth and Jenny Agutter, all earning Academy Award nominations for their stellar performances.

The Theatre Royal Bath hosts the only performances outside of London for this brand-new co-production with the critically acclaimed Menier Chocolate Factory.

One of the country’s most-sought-after directors, Lindsay Posner returns to the Theatre Royal Bath following the West End transfers of A View From The Bridge and The Deep Blue Sea, and the highly-acclaimed Endgame in the Ustinov Studio.
