“I just want to thank you for all your nurturing, inspiration and care, not just for our [young person] but for a truly inspirational example of what I understand theatre to be. You have helped to give all these wonderful young people a purpose and sense of true belonging to a safe, inspirational and vibrant community who’s purpose it seems is to seek out , be curious, inspire and tell great stories as clearly and truthfully as they can. What a wonderful gift.” Parent of Theatre School member
“Every week my young person has come home with a massive grin and talks animatedly about the sessions.” Parent of Theatre School member
Housed in The Egg Theatre, a purpose-built theatre dedicated to theatre made for and with young people, Theatre Royal Bath Theatre School offers specialised training and professional insight into the world of theatre, both on and off stage.
We run weekly sessions for young people aged 5-25; offering skills workshops in a variety of theatre disciplines and creative arts. Our youngest members engage with the arts through creative play; ensuring a safe and fun environment for them to explore, while sowing the seeds of skills they will develop as they continue their journey with us. At the other end of the spectrum, our oldest members form and develop their own theatre company while we mentor them, entering the professional world of theatre with confidence in themselves and their practice.
All public productions produced by TRBTS are supported by industry professional production and creative teams, including: costume and set designers, sound designers, composers, stage management and lighting designers. Wherever possible, these industry professionals are assisted by our own TRBTS Backstage Students, taking on show roles to put into practice their learning from their own dedicated weekly curriculum.
So, whether you are a budding lighting designer, actor or just wanting to explore your creativity with like-minded people, come and be a part of it!
