BTA Scratch Night 2026

“Inside every seemingly strange story of giants, pixies, witches, dragons and big black hounds with fiery eyes, there is often a small kernel of truth.”

Taking their stimulus from Dartmoor’s Myths & Legends, Bath Theatre Academy students have conceptualised and devised eight original pieces of theatre to be performed in an exciting evening of new work. SCRATCH has given our students the tools from a team of theatre makers; and let their imaginations loose.

Each newly formed company has been mentored from the conception of an idea through to execution by working industry professionals. This will be the first iteration of those ideas. This is the first time an audience will see them. This is theatre-making in its rawest form.

Remember, what you will see tonight has not gone through the ‘polish’ phase that a piece of theatre would, it’s merely the start… You, the audience, play a key role in developing these scratch pieces by being here to experience their first public performances tonight. Expect an eclectic mix of short pieces exploring themes chosen by the theatre makers of tomorrow.
