Step back in time to the Victorian era this Christmas. Soak up the festive atmosphere in our exclusive 1805 members rooms. Walk among Victorian actors, while enjoying Yuletide treats. Listen to a talk about Victorian Theatre and Dickens by Bath Spa University Senior Lecturer in English Dr Beth Wright. Then, get cosy in our and take in the iconic story of David Copperfield read by members of the David Copperfield: A Life company. Or relax and read some Dickens independantly in our secluded reading room.

The House is Open at Theatre Royal Bath!
This Winter we are throwing open our doors like never before.

You can experience rare backstage access this Winter, in celebration of David Copperfield: A Life – a once-in-a-generation community play on Theatre Royal Bath’s Main Stage in February 2026, starring over 120 local people and directed by Sally Cookson. All proceeds are in aid of building project Venue 4.
 
We couldn’t possibly put all of you on stage, but we can sprinkle a bit of stardust across the city…..with a little help from our friends!
