For the first time Roger Moorhouse tells the story of Germany’s U-boat crews who had the highest losses of any combat arm during WWII. Some 30,000 German submariners were killed, over 75% of the total numbers deployed. Using archival sources and unpublished diaries this book gives them back their voice.
