New Work
Theatre Royal Bath is one of the UK's most prolific theatre producers, supplying new work that directly supports the whole theatre sector, nationwide.
When you bought a ticket or donated last year you helped us to make productions like The Father, Machinal, Roman Holiday and Grace Pervades.
- Our own original productions toured the UK for over 64 weeks in 24/25!
- In 2026, The Score, starring Brian Cox, travels to the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC.
- TRB Productions directly employed 294 cast, creatives and technicians in 2025.
Community
Theatre Royal Bath has always been a home to local performers including Bath Operatic and Dramatic Society, Bath Light Operatic Group and The Dorothy Coleborn School of Dance.
Thanks to a partnership with The Miss Beryl Billings Charitable Trust since 2009, we have also been able to grow our adult theatre learning programme.
In 2024, we welcomed two new community companies; Engage Elders - a group for members over the age of 65, and Engage Together - a group for learning disabled and d/Deaf adults, creating more opportunities for community to thrive.
In February 2026, over 100 members of the Bath and North East Somerset community, including 3 Engage Together members, took to our main stage to perform David Copperfield: A Life, adpated by Mike Akers and directed by Olivier Award winning director, Sally Cookson. The production was rehearsed over the period of 1 year and took Bath by storm for 5 productions and recieved 5 standing ovations!

The Wonderfund
Since 2022, we have gifted almost 20,000 school children a free ticket to watch a live performance, or participate in a creative experience.
"“Theatre can be a warm hug for children who are living cold lives; it's really important that we offer every opportunity we can to bring them into the embrace of the theatre.”

See what the teachers had to say!
I wanted to send A huge THANK YOU for the tickets to the 'snow mice' show, the children had a fantastic time and loved the whole performance. They have spoken about it lots since coming back into school. It's a fantastic opportunity for our children and we were thrilled to be lucky enough to come and visit.
Imogen, Reception Teacher
Just wanted to say a massive thank you for having us along to your wonderful theatre last week, the children (and staff!) had a brilliant time!
Thank you also for all your help in setting up the trip.
School admin
We've been reflecting on the past year at school and the theatre trip back in January to watch Robin Hood is still the highlight of Year 4 for most of our current cohort!
Sarah, teacher
I am writing with regard to your fabulous Wonderfund which enabled two of our classes to visit last year. This was our first time ever and it was just the most incredible experience for our pupils.
Sally, Deputy Head
Our children in previous years have also absolutely loved coming to visit your theatre and it is always something they remember and talked about alot! For nearly all of our children it is the first time they have ever been to see a show. We really appreciate you.

Education
Theatre Royal Bath is a home of learning for all ages.
TRB Theatre School offers a termly take-part programme that supports children aged 5-18 to make work. This programme is subsidised and there are bursaries available to ensure income is not a barrier for any young person.
Bath Theatre Academy is our collaboration with Bath College, Last year, 72 students studied full-time with us for their Level 3 Performing and Production Arts course - 60% of them continued to drama school or university the following academic year.
Our formal partnership with Bath Spa University ensures that many undergraduate and post-graduate students undertake internships and project placements with us, as well as performing on our stages.
From these programmes, students often become freelancers, some quickly finding work with us, or on tour and in the West End. Others use their skills in communication and creative problem solving in other disciplines.
At Theatre Royal Bath we believe there is no better learning experience than staging a production for a live audience. That's why production values are high right across our learning programmes.
