The auditorium of the Theatre Royal’s Main House is one of the most beautiful in Britain, a gem of Georgian architecture which was totally refurbished in 1982.
The Theatre’s Main stage plays host to Britain’s most illustrious companies and the greatest theatrical talents from all over the world. Just a few of those who have played here in recent times include Ian McKellen, Maggie Smith, Lauren Bacall, Peter Ustinov, Anthony Hopkins, Charlton Heston, Vanessa Redgrave, Dirk Bogarde and Joan Collins.

Storm on the Lawn presents METROPOLIS

Metropolis, the iconic futuristic novel, which became one of Hollywood’s first science fiction blockbusters, is given the live-action treatment, as a cast and crew of 100 young people bring it to life in the Ball Court at Prior Park College – this year’s Storm on the Lawn production.
