The egg opened its doors in 2005 and since then our education and outreach team has strived to work with many of the young people’s support groups throughout the region. Here are just a few of the projects we have been able to undertake thanks to sponsorship, trust finding and your donations.
PREVIOUS PROJECTS
Spurgeons Young Carers (Wiltshire)
Our egg team worked with local young carers over a week, using creative and theatre based activities to engage and encourage a sharing atmosphere among their peers. Often young carers are dealing with a range of responsibilities at home and it can be difficult for them to express or explain their life outside of school. Below, you can see a film about their experiences.
This project was possible due to the support of The Peoples Postcode Lottery and Trust
CHSW – Childrens Hospice South West
Working closely with the amazing team at Charlton House, Somerset, we are involved in a 3 year project specifically created to support the children and families affected by conditions that limit the lives of these amazing young people. The project has included a variety of activities both on-site at the Charlton Farm Hospice and here at the egg.
This project has been possible due to the support of Children and The Arts.
WWI – St Saviour’s School
A WWI research and performance project involving the egg team, Bath Philharmonic and St Saviours School, recreating the village of Larkhall, exploring the aspects that changed with the onset of war – jobs, families, gender roles, food.
From the staff at St Saviours:
“‘Went the Day Well?’ has been a wonderful opportunity for our children this year and one we hope will inspire them they move to their new schools in September.”
This project has been made possible due to the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund
