Do you know a curious and creative child who would enjoy an exciting project to engage in at home?

We are looking for 100 special children, who believe in magic, to visit The Society for the Protection of Magical Creatures on Saturday 18th September and adopt an INVISIBLE Magical Creature to take home and care for using creative instructions received over WhatsApp.

Golden Tickets are FREE and include:

  • 1 visit to the The Society for the Protection of Magical Creatures (SPMC) at the Egg Theatre on Saturday 18th September for a 20-minute interactive experience
  • 1 Invisible Magical Creature in a lightweight cardboard pet carrier (making it easy for you to take it home).
  • 1 Handbook
  • Full support from the SPMC Helpline and weekly text messages instructing your (grand)child in creative tasks

Please note: each child will need an ‘Adult Assistant’ to support them, receive WhatsApp messages, and accompany them on Saturday 18th September. This is usually a parent or grandparent.

For further information please read the FAQs below or email any enquiries to laura.knight@theatreroyal.org.uk

Frequently Asked Questions:

Tell me more about the project:

The Society for the Protection of Magical Creatures (SPMC) is a project created by Aurora & the Bath Cultural Education Partnership (BCEP), a partnership of Bath arts organisations: The Egg Theatre, House of Imagination, Bath Festivals and The Holburne Museum. BCEP have created this project to foster imagination and creativity.

What’s my role in the project?

Each child will need an Adult Assistant to read the handbook aloud and send picture messages on WhatsApp or text on their behalf when they complete a creative task.

When you come to The Egg on Saturday 18 September, a member of staff will sign you up and give you the SPMC phone number so you can begin the activities.

What if I can’t send picture messages?

You can use WhatsApp to send free picture messages if you have access to Wi-Fi/data or you could choose someone else who can send picture messages to be your child’s Adult Assistant.

How much time will this take and how much does it cost?

The project is FREE to take part in and your child can complete it at their own pace over a month or more. At most it will take half an hour of your/the Adult Assistant’s time per week, but we hope that it will involve your child for longer.

How will this benefit my child?

We hope these invisible creatures will be friends to the children and invite them to use their inner magic to create, wonder and be curious.

What are the terms and conditions of the project?

Terms and Conditions will be emailed to you once you book your golden ticket online.

How do I give PERMISSION for my child to take part?

Book a slot to collect an Invisible Creature. When you come to The Egg on Saturday 18 September, a member of staff will sign you up and give you the SPMC phone number so you can begin the activities.
