One evening in 1935 the Pump Room Orchestra was broadcasting live from Bath on the BBC. Listeners were shocked when there was a scream over their wirelesses and the music came to a sudden halt. The Conductor, Edward Baker, had collapsed and died. At first panic ensued because it was feared that the famous spring waters might be dangerous, but subsequent police investigations revealed that he had in fact been murdered!

In the Pump Room that day was ace amateur sleuth Miss Jane Rutherford. who narrowed suspects down to just four: Charlotte Baker, Edward Baker’s widow; Andrew Dunn, first violinist; Janet Parkes, Dunn’s secretary and Gerald Cooper, orchestra manager.

Miss Rutherford gathers them together in the Theatre Royal’s 1805 Rooms during a lunchtime event where she calls on the other guests (you) to help solve this dreadful crime.
