Michael Wicherek’s adaptation fully realises the characters of the lovers and brings to life their world: the sound, heat and colour of Verona, the dark threat of the feud between their families and the ever-increasing speed at which events hurry the lovers to their inevitable doom. It also, through the inclusion of the Narrator ensures that Romeo and Juliet themselves do not remain literary creations distant from the 21st century.

“It was a great interpretation overall which was totally palatable and accessible to all ranges of ability. A really positive experience for students who may never see a stage version. The staging was clever and immersive for all angles of the room. A brilliant adaptation. Thank you.”

– English teacher, Diss High School

“Great energy and pointing of lines were combined with thought-provoking narration. It gave the students an overview of the central strand of the play and it provoke discussion which will deepen their understanding. Moreover, it will have motivated them to engage with Shakespeare in performance.”

– Head of English, Farnham Heath End School

“I liked the fact that you used the stage to your advantage and I know that the production helped me understand the meaning of the play. It was the greatest production I have ever seen. Thank you very much.”
