Performed on Sun 15 Sep

Join world-renowned artist and picture book maker Oliver Jeffers for a one-off, interactive illustration event as he brings his classic and original picture book characters and stories to life.
Oliver Jeffers makes art and tells stories – his visual world a unity of curiosity and humour. Known for his distinctive characters, uncanny, vast worlds, and handwritten text, his substantial body of work takes on many forms from collage to figurative painting to performance art. His critically-acclaimed picture books have sold more than 12million copies worldwide and have been translated into forty-five languages.

The event will also introduce Oliver’s powerful new fable, The Fate of Fausto (publishing 17 September, 2019 | £16.99), a poignantly relevant tale about a man named Fausto who acts upon his self-proclaimed domination of all he can see. Combining powerful poetic prose with traditional lithographic printmaking techniques created at prestigious French fine-art printing house Idem, Paris, Oliver Jeffers presents an ageless fable to appeal to all lovers of words and pictures.

Copies of The Fate of Fausto will be available to purchase on the day (£16.99), as well as select titles from Oliver’s back catalogue.
