David Pugh presents a Wise Children production

Nostalgic, naughty and perfect for now, Malory Towers is a musical of high jinks, high drama and high spirits which visits Bath prior to the West End.

Darrell Rivers is starting school with an eager mind and fierce heart. Unfortunately, she also has a quick temper! Can she learn to tolerate the infuriating Gwendoline Lacey, or value the kind hearted Sally Hope? Can she save the school play and rescue terrified Mary Lou from the grip of a raging storm? If she can do these things anywhere, she will do them at Malory Towers!

Adapted and directed by Emma Rice, this is a show for children and grown up children who still dream of midnight feasts, pillow fights and headmistresses like Miss Grayling.

One of the UK’s most visionary and influential artists, Emma Rice was the recipient of the Outstanding  Contribution to British Theatre Award at the 2019 UK Theatre Awards. Her work includes The Flying Lovers Of Vitebsk, Tristan And Yseult, The Red Shoes and Brief Encounter for Kneehigh; the West End production of The Umbrellas Of Cherbourg and the Shakespeare’s Globe productions Romantics Anonymous and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She founded her own company, Wise Children, in 2018.

The Malory Towers books are a series of six novels based on a boarding school attended by Enid Blyton’s daughter which relocated during the war to the Cornish seaside. The novels have been read by over 300 million people worldwide and are soon to be seen in a major new TV series.
