The Parent Trap is one of the best loved family movies of all time. It was based on Erich Kastner’s popular novel and for the first tie is turned into a stage musical and given the new title IDENTICAL!

The story revolves around twin girls separated at birth, unaware of each other’s existence until they meet by chance at summer camp.In an attempt to get to know their parents and reconcile their family, they decide to swap identities.

Directed by Trevor Nunn, former Artistic Director of the National Theatre and RSC, his multi-award-winning credits include Les Miserables, now the longest running musical in the world, Cats, Sunset Boulevard, and Starlight Express.

George Stiles and Anthony Drewe are the multi-award winning musical theatre writing partnerships whose credits include the international smash hit Cameron Mackintosh/Disney production of Mary Poppins and the Olivier Award winning Honk!

Trevor Nunn is a former Artistic Director of the RSC and the National Theatre. His extensive and multi award-winning repertoire includes Les Misérables, now the longest running musical in the world, Fiddler on the Roof currently running in the West End, Nicholas Nickleby, Cats, Sunset Boulevard, Aspects of Love and Starlight Express.

George Stiles and Anthony Drewe are a multi award-winning musical theatre writing partnership whose works include the international smash-hit Cameron Mackintosh/ Disney production of Mary Poppins, the Olivier Award-winning Honk!, and the recent West End productions of Half a Sixpence and The Wind In The Willows.

Stuart Paterson’s hugely successful stage adaptations of classic children’s works include The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Peter Pan and Merlin The Magnificent. His versions of Hansel & Gretel and Michael Morpurgo’s Kensuke’s Kingdom were both nominated for the TMA Best Children’s Production of the Year Award.

Producer Kenny Wax’s many successful shows include the new mega hit SIX , the Irving Berlin musical Top Hat – winner of Best New Musical Olivier Awards 2015, the Mischief shows: The Play That Goes Wrong, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery; and Jacqueline Wilson’s Hetty Feather.

Erich Kästner is best known for Emil and the Detectives which sold two million copies in Germany alone as well as being translated into 59 languages and Lottie and Lisa (now published as The Parent Trap). He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature four times

 

 

Box Office is open from 10am – 8pm Monday – Saturday.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance, unless otherwise stated.

PLEASE NOTE: Print At Home tickets are only valid as A4 printouts. We cannot currently accept tickets presented on phones/tablets.

All tickets for Main House productions include a £2 building levy.

Standard discounts – apply Monday – Friday evenings, and matinees.

Group discounts – 10+ £1 off per ticket; 20+ save 20% on each ticket.

Standby tickets – 30 seats at the back of the Grand Circle and side of the Dress Circle, on sale from 12noon on the day of the performance. Maximum two per person. Sold in advance for matinees, Sundays, Special Events and pantomime.

Standing spaces sold when all other seats have sold out.

There is a lift for wheelchair users from the Theatre foyer to the Stalls and Royal Circle levels. The Dress Circle and Grand Circle are stair access only.
