Hood & When They Go Low

Event Information

Showing from Thu 7 — Fri 8 May

Bath Theatre Accademy, Year One present:

by Katherine Chandler
Directed by C. H. Thorpe

“Kindness knows no shame.”

Hood is a victim of circumstance: an ordinary girl who lives on a rundown council estate with her dad and four siblings; there is no money left, the cupboards are bare and her dad struggles to see anything beyond his own broken heart. But fuelled by hope and powered by determination, she will do whatever it takes to keep her family together.

This is the story of an everyday hero risking everything to keep hold of what matters most.

In a candid and uncompromising look at society’s most vulnerable citizens, this play also celebrates the optimism that propels young people towards making lasting change.

When They Go Low
by Natalie Mitchell
Directed by Jessy Roberts

“When they go low, we go high.”

A party. Compromising pictures. Social media goes wild. School gets involved.

Whilst the girls get a lecture on self-respect and taking responsibility for their actions, the boys who took the pictures have nothing to answer for. Doesn’t quite seem fair…

A forgettable online exchange or a life-altering moment? Is it worth raising your voice when you know it’s not the loudest in the room?

This is a riotous exploration of everyday feminism and friendship – set to a punk soundtrack.
