Showing from Tue 12 — Sat 16 May

Previous visits by Sasha Regan’s breathtaking all male Gilbert and Sullivan company have been hugely enjoyed by Bath audiences. Now the team returns.

Below decks, World War II troops set out a distraction from the goings on above board with Gilbert and Sullivan’s fourth collaboration and first blockbuster: HMS Pinafore, or The Lass That Loved a Sailor, When lowly tar, Ralph Rackstraw, falls for the Captain’s daughter, Josephine, the age old conundrum of love between the classes ensues. Pledged by her father to marry the head of the British navy, Sir Joseph Porter, Josephine’s bacon is saved thanks to a remarkable twist of fate.

Featuring infectious tunes and a beautifully constructed libretto, HMS Pinafore makes a perfect match with Sasha Regan’s inimitable style – fresh, fast, inventive and fun and an absolute must-see!
