We all know that life can be full of ups and downs, but did you know that there are ways you can stay on top of your mental health? Dr Alex George is here to show us how to look after our minds in the same way we look after our bodies. He talks to TV and radio presenter Katie Thistleton about positive ways to cope with all the things that might worry us – from friendship issues and school stress to stories in the news. His fantastic new handbook, A Better Day, provides warm advice and practical tips to help sweep away the rain clouds. Even if you might be having a hard time right now, you can look toward to your future with optimism and positivity. Because no matter what, there is always hope for a better day.

Dr Alex George is an A&E doctor, he has become known for his honesty and insight around mental & physical health and wellbeing, using his broadcast and social media platforms to bring accessible advice around health and medicine to his followers. He recently presented his own documentary for BBC One and Children in Need, is a regular guest on Lorraine, and has his own show, Inner Harmony on Classic FM. Dr Alex is also the author of Live Well Every Day, which was a Sunday Times bestseller.

Katie Thistleton is a TV and radio presenter known for her work on CBBC and Radio 1. She has also appeared on a variety of shows such as Blue Peter and Celebrity Mastermind. Katie trained as a journalist after attaining a degree in English and Creative Writing and has worked for the BBC ever since, working behind the camera for a few years before moving in front of it. Katie has always been passionate about reading and writing – she hosts The CBBC Book Club, a weekly show promoting books to children born out of Katie’s passion for getting children reading. Katie is passionate about raising mental health awareness and does work for charities Mind and Place2be amongst others.
