Memory

Presented by Clwyd Theatr Cymru

By Jonathan Lichtenstein

Directed by Terry Hands

Friday 12th – Saturday 13th September

A group of actors meet in a rehearsal room to explore events in Berlin during the rise of Hitler – and later, following the fall of the Berlin Wall. A generation later, in Bethlehem, the Israeli security barrier is going up.

Memory reveals the past and the present in search of the truth.

Welsh dramatist Jonathan Lichtenstein’s earlier work, The Pull of Negative Gravity won an Edinburgh Fringe First for innovation and outstanding new writing before transferring to New York.

Terry Hands is one of Europe’s leading directors with an international reputation and is Director of Clwyd Theatr Cymru. He is the founding director of the Liverpool Everyman Theatre and during his 25 years with the Royal Shakespeare Company he directed more productions there than any other in the company’s history.
