Theatre Royal Bath recruits new Board members

The Theatre Royal Bath is looking for outstanding individuals with a strong interest in the Theatre and is welcoming applicants from a wide diversity of backgrounds and personal circumstances.

Greg Ingham, Chairman of the Theatre Royal Bath, said,

“We are seeking individuals with a passion for culture who can aid the governance of the Theatre Royal Bath. This is a very rare opportunity to contribute to the remarkable long-term success story of one of the South West’s most important cultural businesses.”

The role of a Board member is a part-time and unpaid position. Board members attend bi-monthly Board meetings and are expected to be regular visitors to the three Theatre Royal Bath auditoria – the Main House, the Ustinov and the egg theatre.  Additionally, there is an opportunity for Board members to attend opening nights in London of plays produced by the Theatre Royal Bath’s production company, Theatre Royal Bath Productions.

The Theatre Royal Bath is run by a highly-experienced team of full-time theatre professionals. The role of Board members is to provide oversight of the executive team’s activities in the short term and also to aid the long-term planning of the Theatre’s development. The Board also acts on behalf of the Trustees to ensure that the Theatre Royal is being professionally managed and continues to uphold its remit.

Applicants are asked to submit a CV and covering letter, explaining why they wish to be a Board member and the qualities and skills they feel they can bring to the organisation.

Applications will be reviewed by the Chairman of the Board and the Managing Director of the Theatre Royal Bath. Appointments will be made following a meeting with all current Board members.

Applicants should send their application to Nicky Palmer, Theatre Royal Bath, Sawclose, Bath BA1 1ET before the closing date of Friday 8th February, 2013.
