Overview

The songs of Madness - Our House, Baggy Trousers, My Girl, Embarrassment, Driving in My Car, The Wings of a Dove, Night Boat to Cairo and the all-time classic It Must Be Love - are some of the best-loved pop songs of all time. Hear them live in this award-winning musical, performed by a nutty band of actor musicians.

Winner of the 2003 Olivier Award for Best New Musical, Our House is a touching tale of life and love, heartbreak and comedy, right and wrong, set in London’s Camden Town in the mid nineteen eighties.

it’s Joe Casey’s sixteenth birthday and he’s treating his girlfriend Sarah to an evening in a brand new luxury apartment – the only problem is they have to break in. When the police turn up, Joe has to decide – run away, or face the music – a choice that will set the course of his life, and his love, forever.

Madness was one of the most popular bands of the eighties and continues to have a huge following. They appeared as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace in 2012 and also at the closing ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

The story of Our House is written by Tim Firth whose work includes the record-breaking Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots, Preston Front and Neville’s Island.
