National Theatre Connections is coming to The Egg!
Are you aged 12-19 and passionate about theatre?
With 20-25 performers, and 5 backstage participants, we will rehearse and perform our version of SYCAMORE GAP, by Al Smith, as a part of the festival. We will also have a full professional creative team who will work alongside the young company to build an exceptional show. From January to April 2026, you’ll rehearse and perform at both the Theatre Royal Bath and the Bristol Old Vic — selected groups will even have a chance to transfer to the National Theatre Connections Festival at The Lowry later in the summer.
Some information and dates to be aware of before applying:
You must be aged between 12-19 to take part.
We will perform at The Egg, Theatre Royal Bath on the evenings of the 18th & 19th March, and then transfer to the Bristol Old Vic for a day of workshops and a performance w/c 23rd March (exact date tbc). On this day, at Bristol Old Vic, the performers and backstage team will have to take a day off school/college. You must be available for all dates to apply
Rehearsals will begin on Tuesday 6th January, meeting weekly from 5pm-9pm. After the February half-term, rehearsals will be on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons until our tech week on the 16th March. Tech week will be Monday – Friday, evenings only.
The total fee for a performance place is £500.
The total fee for a backstage place is £175 (unless you are applying for an Assistant Director role, and then the fee will be the same as a performance place).
Bursaries are available. Bursary forms will be sent out on completion of the application below.
