Britain’s funniest and sexiest show returns to the Theatre Royal. A poignant and hilarious tour of the last frontier, the ultimate forbidden zone, The Vagina Monologues is a celebration of female sexuality in all its complexity and mystery. In this amazing phenomenon that has swept the world, three performers present real women’s stories of intimacy, vulnerability, and sexual self-discovery.

Based on interviews with over 200 women about their memories and experiences of sexuality, The Vagina Monologues is witty and irreverent, compassionate and wise. “At first women were reluctant to talk,” Eve Ensler writes. “They were a little shy. But once they got going, you couldn’t stop them.”

The Vagina Monologues has received prestigious nominations for Drama Desk and Obie awards and for the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment. It has been produced in over 25 countries and there are open-ended runs in New York and Paris.

Tracy-Ann Oberman is best known as Chrissie Watts in Eastenders, a role which culminated in killing Dirty Den, and she also played Yvonne Hartman, head of the Torchwood Institute, in Doctor Who. Other recent television credits include Summerhill, Robin Hood and Mistresses.

Nikki Sanderson is best known for playing Candice Stowe in Coronation Street. Other television credits include Heartbeat and New Street Law. Recent film appearances include the British film Clubbed and The Bogey Man 3.

Cathy Tyson is best known for the iconic film Mona Lisa, for which she received numerous awards, and for her television roles in Band of Gold, Grange Hill and Emmerdale.
