LOOKING AHEAD
As we reflect on a year of nurturing creativity and fostering opportunity, The Egg Theatre remains dedicated to empowering young people through the transformative power of theatre. We invite you to join us in shaping the theatre-makers of tomorrow, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the magic of live performance.
Our upcoming project, The Secret Gardens, exemplifies this future focus. Already partly funded by Arts Council England, this ambitious, disability-led reinterpretation of The Secret Garden will blend artistic innovation with civic responsibility. Working in partnership with child associate artists, we will create five interconnected experiences:
- a two-act family production for 3,000 audience members;
- 600 creativity kits with an accessible filmed version of the show for children in hospitals;
- three-day school residencies in 12 primary and secondary schools;
- and a pilot community tour of a pop-up “imagination garden” for babies.
This project will also deepen our commitment to wellbeing, nature, and creative exploration.
Through participatory evaluation, culminating in a children’s “manifesto for wellbeing” captured via creative technology, we will continue to place young people’s voices at the heart of our work.
